RETIREMENT THOUGHTS | The Course of Business Life

March 27, 2026

Hello friends!

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement. My official retirement date will be May 1, 2026. That date is approaching fast. Over the last couple of years, my staff and I have been preparing for this eventuality. I have spent the last 40 years helping my clients get to the point where they can retire. That has been the focus and passion of my professional career. To this day, it is still my passion. I love what I do and am so grateful that you have allowed me to be part of your life. Words cannot adequately express my appreciation for your trust and confidence in my staff and me over these many years. A few weeks ago, my wife and I had lunch with one of you. In comparing notes, we determined that we have been working together since the early 80's. That is amazing! Regardless of how long we have worked together, I hope my sincere interest in your financial well-being has been conveyed and reflected in the results of your investments. As many of you have heard me say over the years, "retirement is serious business," and so it is. We spend our working years accumulating assets, and as we transition into retirement, these assets need to be managed and organized so we can be as comfortable in our retirement years as we were during our working years. The difference, of course, is that your “paycheck” will come from your assets instead of your employer. That requires selecting and structuring assets to maximize the chances of success. As stated earlier, that has been my focus and passion for my clients throughout my career. It will remain my professional passion.

It is now time for me to spend more time focusing on my other passions, including my family, my faith, and service to others. Jim Rohn, the American author and motivational speaker, is attributed with the saying, "You spend 25 years learning, 25 years working, and 25 years serving." While life rarely divides so neatly, the concept remains meaningful to me.

In the last two years, I have been working tirelessly to ensure that the organization and structure we have built will continue without interruption. My staff will remain in place. Each of them is intimately involved in managing your accounts. Jacob Bierstedt, CFP®, ChFC®, will become the advisor on your accounts. Jacob has been with me for nine years and is well-versed in what we do and how we do it. I have complete confidence and faith in him. One of my objectives in preparing for this transition was to ensure that your accounts are managed by someone who not only has the skills, knowledge, and ability to continue the plans we have put in place for you, but who is young enough to outlive most of us. Although that is not guaranteed, it is likely. Jacob is 38 years old and has been in the business for nearly 15 years; as stated, 9 of those years have been with us. Barring some sort of accident, he should outlast us all.

You might find it interesting that 85% of our clients are more senior. Over 43% are aged 60-69, over 28% are 70-79, and over 11% are 80-89. In addition, nearly 3% are over 90 years old. Given these demographics, experienced guidance is critical. Our team is well-schooled in managing transitions and meeting complex needs at these stages of life.

Our office manager and Director of Marketing, Tami Schnieder, will continue to manage our operations. She is professional and extremely organized. Her contributions are essential to our work.

As you know, we merged with Pence Financial Group, LLC last year. Pence is a great partner and is committed to supporting and growing our organization. They provide resources and expertise that add value and enhance our services. Your accounts will continue to be managed by Jacob and supported by Tami, not by Pence. Over time, as the business grows, Pence will add staff, including advisors and support staff. In time, they will also change the business name from Dixon Financial Group, LLC, a division of Pence Financial Group, LLC, to just Pence Financial Group. But again, your accounts will continue to be managed by those you know and are familiar with.

As a token of my appreciation, I would like to invite you to join me, my family, and our staff for a retirement celebration on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Siena Golf Club. Please click on the link for details and to RSVP. David Dixon | Retirement Party Invitation Our space is limited, so sign up soon. You can also call the office at 702.982.2479 to speak with Tami; she would be happy to take your RSVP. I'm looking forward to seeing you.

As for my future, Jana and I will remain here, in Las Vegas. This is our home. We were both raised here and have raised our boys here as well. Our sons now live across the country, so we'll travel to visit them and their children. All five of our boys plan to attend the event; I hope you can meet each of them. Many of you have watched them grow up over the years – this is your chance to see them in person.

Please do not hesitate to reach out. If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call.
